Reducing Fats and Sugars

My simplest ways to reduce calories AND eat healthy is to cut down on fats and sweets. I think a lot of time people will think an extra tablespoon of coffee creamer won't hurt because it is only 35 calories but trust me it adds up! My sister had put it the best way when she helped me remodeled my first kitchen. Her exact words were "yes that faucet maybe only be $200 but when you start adding everything up the new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave, oven, etc it starts adding up to thousands and thousands of dollars! So yes one item may not seem a lot but when you add it up for the day or even the whole week or month it is a lot and all those calories will end up in the thousands too! So for me when I want to eat those sugary or fattened foods I'll try to reduce the amount by half, whether it's coffee creamer, dressing, sour cream or even when I bake I use half the sugar in the recipe. If that seems drastic to you start off smaller because it really does add up!

A couple healthy plates I made this week. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
